The Giant Soup retold by Siokita Tu’ata’ane
One day there was a giant. He was hungry and he decided to make some soup. He needed a pot and hot water. He put in some carrots and he tasted the soup.“That is no good,” he said.
Then he saw a boy coming back from school and he decided to catch him to put the him in the soup. He walked up behind the back of him and he grabbed him and put him in the soup.
The boy said, “You didn’t turn on the stove and you forgot to put pepper in it.” The giant put some pepper in the soup and the boy went on drinking the soup. Then the giant said, “Don’t drink my soup!” And he took him out of the pot. After that the boy ran to his house.
